Travelling to the Hebrides

It takes approximately an hour to travel from Stornoway Ferry Terminal to Bridge House Bed and Breakfast in Breanish, although if you stop to admire the views it could take a lot longer.  Stornoway airport is only a further ten minutes away.  If you are hiring a car most companies will meet you at the airport and collect from there when you fly out.

Tarbert Ferry Terminal in Harris is roughly two hours away and the small (car) inter-island ferry that goes between North Uist, Berneray and Leverburgh on Harris is a further half hour.  Lewis and Harris are connected by the land bridge.

Please check the map at the bottom of the page for road directions.

If you want to travel during the summer months either by Bus and Ferry, Car and Ferry, or Air, make sure you have booked your travel well in advance. .

By Sea

No matter where you are traveling from, Ullapool, Uig (Skye), or Berneray the journey takes you past spectacular scenery. Keep an eye out whilst on board the ferries, see if you can spot Dolphins, Whales, Porpoises, and Seals.

Ferries operate into Stornoway, Tarbert, and Leverburgh with Caledonian MacBrayne.
